Six years have passed since the Western Japan Heavy Rain Disaster
occurred in July 2018. Normal life has returned thanks to restoration
efforts by the national and prefectural governments. Dams were built
upstream of the Sozu River and Myojin River, and restoration was
apparently possible without any problems even with a disaster of this
scale. The restoration work differed between the national and
prefectural governments, and the rice field side was restored by the
national government, and the soil and driftwood were completely removed
the following year without any requests, making rice cultivation
possible. However, the field side was left abandoned for four years, and
restoration work was carried out by the prefecture, and although the
rivers and roads were completely restored, the mudslides into the fields
were not resolved, and requests from nearby residents were largely
ignored, and restoration work was carried out according to the
prefectural government's design, so I am still working to restore the
function of the field. |
